The construction of Adana 15 July Martyrs Bridge, the 4th longest bridge in Turkey, which will relieve the traffic load in Adana to a great extent, is about to be completed. The bridge project, the foundation of which was laid by the Metropolitan Municipality in 2016 and one-third of which was completed in 3 years, was suspended by Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar after the elections due to financial insufficiencies.

In its current state, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure took over the bridge and 700 million liras of funds were transferred to the bridge with the approval of President Erdogan. After the approval on 20 August 2020, the tender was initiated and construction started again.

DAIMFED PRESIDENT DESCRIBED THE PROJECT

Mustafa Karslıoğgu, President of Eastern Mediterranean Federation of Construction Contractor Associations (DAIMFED), evaluated the situation in the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, which is the 4th largest bridge in Turkey and rising over the Seyhan River. 

Karslıoglu stated that the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, which is one thousand 669 metres long and consists of 6 lanes, has entered the last quarter and said, "According to the information we obtained after our meeting with our minister and our company who visited our Adana in the past months, the deadline is April 2023. 15. During the visit of our General Director of Motorways, we received a promise from the contractor company for the end of March. He said: "The 15 July Martyrs Bridge, which will be opened in April in the worst case scenario, is a bridge that was started and completed with the instructions of our President and has the great support of our government.”

The bridge project, which Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar had suspended due to lack of funds, was started with the instruction of President Erdogan. The 15 July Martyrs Bridge, which will relieve Adana traffic by 30 per cent, will be opened to the service of Adana people in April. Gokhan Taskin said about the project: "It is a bridge over the Seyhan River like a necklace for Adana. It is really important to realise these projects. This is an honour for Turkey."
